From Abba to Zoom: A Pop Culture Encyclopedia of the Late 20th Century
From Abba to Zoom is a pop culture encyclopedia of the late 20th century that was written by David Mansour. If you love pop culture, there is a lot of interesting information between the covers of this book about the world in the 1950s, 1960s, 1970s and even 1980s. It's pretty groovy.
It is a book for Boomers and Gen Xers. Did you watch The Huckleberry Hound Show, Johnny Quest or Sesame Street? Were you a fan of Farrah Fawcett, James Bond, Lost in Space, or Woodstock? If so, you will enjoy this book with more than 3,000 alphabetically arranged references.
Amazon Customer Review:
"This almost everything pop culture book, is really very good...It has classic TV shows, movies, top 40 music, fads, commercials, classic toys, classic candy bars, great icons, comics and much more. It has the popular and not very popular stuff of the 1950s through 1990s. Baby boomers should have fun browsing in this book, but younger and older individuals should like this book, too. The biggest problem with this book is putting it down. A book with The Beatles, Jonny Quest, Coca-Cola, Captain Kangaroo, Gilligan's Island, Hot Wheels, Barbie, mini skirts, The Flintstones and much much more in one book that cannot be bad. Almost everything? Almost. And almost everybody, should have fun reading this book." - Alex
It would definitely make a great gift idea for anyone who is intrigued by pop culture of years gone by. Read more on Amazon by clicking right here. It was published in 2005 so it definitely won't have any recent pop culture but, because it is an older book, nor will it break your pocket book. Used copies are quite affordable, as is the Kindle version of this book. If you want a new hard copy, you will have to pay a bit more since it is an out of print book.
