31 DAYS OF COFFEE MUGS: Gray Grey or Beige - Greige Mugs

According to Consumer Reports, a trend in the kitchen is toward more grays and beiges and even a combination that some are calling greige. I went looking for a definition of greige and found one on a blog called Inspiration that defined greige as a combination of white, black and red or yellow plus perhaps some blue.

Consumer Reports says that beige and gray an therefore greige, are popular colours because they stand well on their own and because they also blend well with other colours. Yes, of course, there are some handsome mugs that suit the topic and these are the best of the choices that I found.

I have long admired the Starbucks Rococo mug in orange but only just discovered it comes in a number of colours including greige, which Starbucks calls charcoal gray, and is shown on the left.

Then there is this fabulous I Love You a Bushel and a Peck with a Hug around the Neck coffee mug, which is attractive and also brings fond memories for those who remember one of the versions of the song. Wikipedia says there have been 11 versions recorded including the 1950 version by Doris Day and a Sharon, Lois and Bram's version.

Here's a lovely handmade pottery gray mug by Soulful Ceramics. It has been carefully hand crafted and painted, making it an especially beautiful gift idea when you want something that is a little extra special. Note that the crafter says that because of the handmade nature of this mug and the carefully painted details, it is best hand washed.

Finally, is this set of four porcelain Rosana Rue du Bac mugs with varying geometric shapes that include polka dots and stripes.

With this set, you will always know which coffee mug is yours. It is both dishwasher and microwave friendly and comes packaged in an attractive gift box.

Do you suppose the 50 SHADES OF GREY book trilogy and the new movie for the series has anything to do with this greige trend? I suppose it could...The Telegraph says it is the best-selling book of all time, having sold more than 5.3 million copies, which makes it pretty popular indeed.

Will there be a greige or grey or gray or beige or whatever you call it, mug in your life?
